One big improvement to the 2012 Elantra is an ActiveECO System, an innovative system that modifies the engine and transmission control to smooth out throttle response and increase real-world fuel economy by up to 7%.
 
This incredible ActiveECO system is not the only new feature for the 2012 Elantra. Hyundai drivers can now enjoy the 2012 Elantra in new color choices: shimmering white, midnight black, and indigo night. A new steering wheel calibration has been added for better on-center feel and the dual-shell horn has been improved for sound. The GLS Preferred Package now includes fog lights and a passenger-side sun visor extension.
 
Interior
 
Stillwater and Tulsa Hyundai drivers will be just as impressed with the interior of the 2012 Elantra as they are with what’s underneath the hood. Once inside the 2012 Elantra, Alexandria Hyundai fans can relax into the lightweight, environmentally friendly foam seats in either two-tone gray or beige. Heated front and rear seats are available, a first for the 2012 Elantra.
 
The entertainment amenities are very impressive on the 2012 Elantra. A 172-watt AM/FM/Satellite Radio player with CD and MP3 capabilities is standard on all 2012 Elantras. These sound systems have six speakers and iPod/USB auxiliary jack inputs so Stillwater Hyundai drivers can control precisely what they want to listen to. A 360-watt system with an external amplifier is an option for the music lovers.
 
On the GLS and Limited trims, Tulsa and Stillwater Hyundai shoppers will find a 7 inch touch screen and voice-activated navigation system. Powertrain
 
An all-new 1.8-liter Nu four-cylinder engine with 148 horsepower and 131 lb-ft of torque can be found under the hood. The 2012 Elantra’s standard fuel economy is 29-mpg in the city and an amazing 40-mpg on the highway. Stillwater Hyundai drivers are given the choice between a six speed automatic or manual transmission, both with a driving range of up to 500 miles on just one tank of gas.
 
There are key engine components for the 2012 Elantra to provide a smooth and enjoyable ride for Tulsa Hyundai drivers every time they get behind the wheel. The 2012 Elantra’s engine has an aluminum block and head, dual continuously variable valve timing, and a variable induction system.
